Q: iphone 6 wont accept apple id password and canot update apps

My Iphone 6 wont accept my apple id password and now I cannot update any apps. the screen to enter password keeps popping up and I cannot even text anymore

In the dialogue box that prompts you for the password. Is it the correct Apple ID that is required to update the apps?
