Q: Locked Apple ID

Currently bought a second hand phone which was factory reset but the owner never removed there Apple id and now i am unable to use the phone, i have tried contacting the person i bought it from but they no longer have the same number, any suggestions?

    If you bought it through a place such as Amazon or eBay, ask the people running the site/store for a refund. The activation lock is an anti-theft measure; normally, unless you’re a device’s original owner, only the person who set the lock might be willing to remove it for you.

    See I tried that and they informed me I need to contact the seller, Is there no way around it as I am unable to contact the person as stated they have a new number :/

    The only way to remove the screen lock is with the Apple ID and Password used on it. Contact the previous owner or get your money back. The phone is useless without the Apple ID and Password. No one, not even Apple can unlock it.

    If by "they" you mean Amazon, eBay, or similar, you have buyers protection rights and they, not the individual seller, owe you a refund. Check the small print...
