It looks like your iPhone 6 is causing you some issues right now turning off around 20% battery life and not restarting until it's being charged. I'd not want to rely on being close to a power source with my iPhone so I'll be glad to help!
Since this can be either a hardware or software issue, below are the steps to help you determine which it is.
1. Back up your iOS device -- I'll be having you completely erase your iPhone so I highly recommend having a recent backup to keep your personal information safe.
2. Restore iOS device to factory settings -- Once you're sure your data is safe, you'll restore your iPhone using iTunes installed on a computer. Using your iPhone's settings only removes your personal information and we need to get a fresh, clean copy of the iOS installed.
3. Test the issue -- This time through, select "Set up as a new iPhone" when you're asked how you want to set yours up again. Log into iTunes & App Store and iCloud, and sync some of your information back. Test how your iPhone behaves once it reaches 20% again. If it doesn't shut down, follow the next step.
4. Restore your iOS with a backup -- Follow this article to place your personal information back on your phone. Thanks for use Apple Support Communities!

Jul 15, 2016 2:19 PM in response to geoff5732by Barry Hemphill,I would let it discharge completely and then charge it until it is full.
First, however, I would reset the device by holding the power and home keys down until the Apple logo appears. If that corrects the problem, nothing else needs to be done.

Once the battery gets below 30%, it's completely unpredicatable as to whether it will last for five seconds or two hours. Make an appointment with the genius bar at your apple store.
