iCloud keeps asking for Password on Mac and iPhone

Hi all,

After changing my Apple ID password, all the devices that use my iCloud account have been constantly asking to enter my password again. I have tried disabling iCloud Keychain, reinstalling iOS and El Capitan, removing and adding the iCloud account from my Mac and iPhone etc. I have tried everything I could possibly think off but I keep getting messages like these.

As soon as I connect to WiFi on my iPhone in the morning:

User uploaded file

On my mac during startup:

User uploaded file

Browsing the internet:

User uploaded file

I have even tried using a different iCloud account but I get the same messages. Could anyone please assist with this issue, it has been driving me crazy.

Many thanks.

Are you using Two Step Authorization or Two Factor Authentication? If so, then are you certain that your FaceTime or Messages apps are working correctly? It may be asking for the App-specific password for one of those apps if they are not signed in or are having other issues.

You can also try changing your password and then try signing back in when you get the prompt with the new password.

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Move the following to the Trash and restart.

Close all running apps. Put the following items in the trash:

1) In the ~/Library/ folder, put the Caches folder in the trash.

2) In the ~/Library/Application Support/ folder, put the folder iCloud in the trash.

3) In the ~/Library/Preferences/ folder, put the file MobileMeAccounts.plist in the trash.

Learned from Kurt Lang

Delete the password from Keychain Access (Applications/Utilities).
