I have upgraded my older 2011MacBook Pro with a 500gb ssd and 16 gab of ram,(both from OWC), in hoped of running FCPX. I am new to editing but am currently using iMovie. Unfortunately I can't afford a new machine just yet. Should my upgraded one work

I Have upgraded my late 2011 MacBook pro and was hoping it would handle FCPX. ( 500gb ssd, 16gb ram, both from OWC.)

I'm currently using iMovie but would like to grow a bit. Unfortunately I can't quite afford a new machine just yet. Though I know I may be limited in some applications, would I be wasting my money investing in FCP right now? THANKS!!
