Bt home hub 6 HH6 location not working

i I have just been upgraded to bt home hub 6 router. But since my location cannot be identified on my imac late 2015 or my MacBook Pro.

IT does work on my iPad and iphone.

HUst to to clarify when using maps/google maps etc.

I Have tried to research and apparently the answer I have come up with us that it may be because the new router is not on the apple database yet????

i Have tried the obvious plugging old router back in (it works btw)

also so tried single ssid instead of two. Tried turning smart setup off.

Does anybody have any ideas or other answers.

Thanks ipeeps

Hello Jyeatesx2,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I know having no location data available on your Mac is not what you expect.

Based on what you stated, after getting a new router from your ISP, the location data on each Mac you own is incorrect, even though it is correct on your iOS devices. Your iPhone (and possibly your iPad if it has cellular capabilities) uses GPS and cellular data for your location, where your Mac uses approximate location data from the Wi-Fi network. The good news is that the following article will be helpful in troubleshooting your issue of the location being incorrect on each Mac:

Cheers!
