Q: i phone video shot "portrait" style for Final Cut Pro X

Hi, thanks in advance.  I have some iphone video in my timeline that I shot in "portrait" (by mistake).

When I play it (Mac -- Final Cut Pro X) it has a lot of black on both sides (outside of the video on right side and left side).  Does anyone know how to get rid of the black areas so just the video shows in the movie?  Thanks and take care.

IMac, Mac OS X (10.6.7)

There are some apps for iOS devices that prevent you from ever shooting movies in the wrong orientation ever again. You must deliberately override the app to allow vertical shooting. Might want to get one.

Karsten -- thanks again, appreciated.  I downloaded the fixer (thanks!) and tried zoom also -- quick question re clip I have in my timeline.  When I zoom the clip to 50% in preview it goes to 50%, but when & after I play the same clip in full screen it goes back to the regular "fit" size (in this case 35%).  Might you know if there any way to keep the 50% zoom for the clip in the timeline, permanently?  I looked all over the help menu but could not find anything.  Thanks again and have a nice weekend, Bruce
