Q: Configurator 2.2 re-downloads apps EVERY SINGLE TIME

I have three old iPhones that I'd like to give to my kids to use.  I'm attempting to supervise them via Apple Configurator 2 so that I can easily deploy/manage/restrict the devices.  I have created a Profile and a Blueprint and I have Prepared and put them all into Supervised mode.  My problem is that every time I apply the Blueprint to a device the Configurator app on my Mac RE-DOWNLOADS all of the apps from iTunes (even if I've downloaded them using Configurator on the same device and if I've downloaded them for another device).

This happens whether I've never applied a Blueprint to the device before AND it happens if I re-apply the Blueprint.  This means that for each device I have to sit and wait hours while it re-downloads the same apps for each device EVERY TIME I apply a BluePrint.  I also have these apps downloaded via iTunes and they're in the "Mobile Applications" folder and so, essentially, every app that I want installed to my kids' devices is saved on my Mac TWICE.  Am I missing something?  Is this a bug?  Or is this how (gasp!) it's supposed to work?  I don't understand the purpose of downloading the same apps multiple times.

Somebody (please!) tell me that I'm missing something in the way I'm using Configurator!

Thanks in advance for your help!

I'm not sure if this matters or not, but after doing some poking around, I discovered that I do not have the "~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator" folder as mentioned in this Apple support document.

    I only have:

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator.ui

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator.xpc.AirTrafficService/

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator.xpc.DeviceService/

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator.xpc.InternetService/

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator.xpc.MigrationService/

    ~/Library/Containers/com.apple.configurator.xpc.SmartHubService/

Is there a chance that Configurator didn't install correctly when I downloaded it from the Mac App Store?

I am having the same issue and I believe it's because the "old" version of the app is on the Blueprint.  When we apply a blueprint to the device, it installs the "old" version of the app.  AC 2 then compares the apps with the latest VPP assignments apps, then shows that the app is outdated.  We then need to update all apps, so essentially spending twice the time necessary.  This is Crazy!!!

I just got off the phone with Enterprise to see if there is a way to update the apps within a Blueprint without having to remove and re-add each app.  Or if there is a way to have the Blueprint pull the latest copy of the selected app automatically instead of installing "old" versions of the app.

Thanks, @kslavens!  Just checking in...  Any luck with Enterprise?
