Q: IPad Air 2 external hard drive

HI, my camera links to my iPad via wi-fi, but I don't want to fill the drive with RAW files so am looking to add a 2 or 3 tb external drive. Can any one give me some solid advice on this. Many thanks, Trevor.

    Hi Jack Plug,

I understand you are looking for a way to store the RAW images from your camera to your iPad.   It is not possible to connect an external hard drive to your iPad.  So, basically, there are two ways you can store your files:

You can attach an external 2-3 TB external drive to your computer and import the RAW images to it.  Then, choose just the photos that you want to sync with your iPad.

Or, if you enable iCloud Photo Library, you can store all of your photos and videos in original, high quality in the cloud.  If you set your iPad to optimize storage, you will be able to access all of the photos in your iCloud Library without taking up space on your iPad.  You can purchase storage plans up to 1 TB in size in iCloud.

The resource below provide some additional information regarding these options:

Keep your photos safely stored and up to date on all your devices

    iCloud Photo Library

    iCloud storage plans and pricing

    Hope that helps ...
