All current and recent iPhone models, and iOS use strong hardware/firmware data encryption. The FBI recently had to pay a company $1M to supposedly gain access to an older iPhone (5 I think). And even that company admitted their cracking software will not work on newer devices with newer versions of iOS.

There is no known commercially available software that can recover data from an iOS device - as long as you enabled the screen lock passcode and/or fingerprint, as those actions during setup also establish the data encryption keys.

btw, When you chose "erase all content and settings" on an iphone, what gets deleted is the encryption keys. Without those, your erased device contains nothing but gibberish as the encryption key needed to de-crypt the data is now gone.

If someone has your device in their hands and knows your screen lock passcode then sure, they can get your data. If they do not have your screen lock passcode, they cannot.

Similarly if they know your AppleID/iCloud password, they can get to your iCloud data as they can login just as you do. But without that password, no, they cannot get to your data.

Safeguard your passwords and you safeguard your data - the iOS and iDevice's strong AES encryption will keep that data safe as long as your passwords are not compromised.

As I said, if it were simple or easily cracked, the FBI could have saved taxpayers a million dollars.

Again, no. If your device is disabled because of too many password attempts, the ONLY fix for that is to restore it in iTunes. That restore will erase all the data on the device. If you have a backup in iTunes on the computer being used for the restore, you can restore from that backup. If the device has never been backed up to the computer being used to restore, then there is no means of creating a backup until after the device is erased and restored. If you have an iCloud backup, you can restore from that once the device is reset, but again, you must know the iCloud password to restore from an iCloud backup.

You are worrying about nothing. If what you are worried about was possible or easy, it would have been mainstream news already. There is no commercial software that can recover encrypted data on an iDevice without the encryption key. Any such software claiming that is indeed a scam - all it could recover is meaningless encrypted gibberish.

Android operating system functions differently from iOS. Recovery

software that works on Android OS will not work on iOS.
