Q: Mail on iPad always opens to the same message

On one of my iPads, whenever I open Mail, the same message always comes up automatically.

The message is over 2 months old, and there has to be a hundred or more messgaes after it.

This doesn't happen on my other IPad, or my two desktops.

What do I do to prevent this from happening?

It is slightly aggravating always having to scroll through a couple of hundred messages, simply to read the recent ones.

iMac, OS X El Capitan (10.11.4), (27-inch, Late 2013)

If you still have issues with sending and receiving email, try removing your email account from your device and then add it back again:* 1. On your computer, sign in to your email provider’s website to verify that all of your email is there or check if your email is saved somewhere other than your iOS device. 2. On your iOS device, tap Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars. 3. Tap the email account you want to remove. (I have, but there is no delete button for the primary account, only for my three other verified accounts) 4. Tap Delete Account. 5. Add your account again.

I simply removed the offending message.

    Now all is well.

So much easier than trying to figure out how to delete an account.

I Was reading this discussion and could not come up with a reason why the delete account option isn't there for you. Do you have some sort of profile on the device? Is this your own personal email account?

I'm glad you got it sorted out, but I did want to point out that rather than swiping up through a lot of emails to get to the top, just tap on the top center of the Inbox preview window, above the word Inbox, and the emails should quickly scroll back up to the top.
