Since yesterday my IPhone 5 has had troubles charging, and the battery died on me before I could resolve the issue.
When I plug the charger in, the iPhone recognizes something's happening as the screen goes from black to indicating it needs a powersource (the cable + lightning symbol below the red bars of the empty battery), however it won't charge and ive tried 4 different cables so far.

okay listen get a hair dry turn the iPhone on its back try to heat the battery But don't get to heated up then plug in the charger then it should work
I had this problem for a while. I took it to an Apple Store. The problem was lint from my pocket getting in the charging port. He scraped it out. I suppose you could do that yourself, but he recommended against it.
