Q: Fix Safari!
I would like to add my voice to the complaints about Safari! I am not sure whether the issues arise from updates to Safari or to El Capitan. In the last couple of month's I got so frustrated with Safari that I installed Firefox on my MacBook Pro. It runs better than Safari but still crashes. I have also installed the latest version of Adobe Flash and that also has not solved the problems.
Safari simply cannot handle pages that have pop-up windows and embedded video etc. It works for a while but them seems to get clogged through not being able to purge its cache. This means that when I go to read my digital New York Times, I get through a couple of articles and then the website freezes. I have to restart Safari and often my computer to continue reading. This happens on any website that is heavy with images, video or pop-ups and therefore makes web browsing a chore. I can use Safari to check my Outlook webmail but anything more complex than that lead to frozen web pages.

Safari is working fine on El Capitan v10.11.5 and Safari 9.1.1 for me.
The problems you are experiencing may be due to Safari extensions or third party plug-ins.
