iMessage not appearing on all devices

I have an iPhone 6S, an iPad and an iMac. When I send or receive an iMessage (not a text message) using the phone neither it nor the reply appear on the iPad or the iMac. And vice versa - if I send a message from either the iMac or the iPad neither it nor any replies show up on the phone. Although the iPad and the iMac do seem to talk and sync to one another. I assume something is messed up in settings but don't know how to correct. Suggestions?

Running iMac OS 10.8

iPad iOS 9

iPhone iOS 9

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.2

Hi

Try the following steps:

Check that you are signed in to iMessage using the same Apple ID across all three devices:

  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Messages > Send & Receive - if required, tap on your Apple ID (in blue at the top) to sign out > then sign back in with the correct credentials.

Check that you have selected any email addresses via which you wish be reachable and/or to send from in iMessage on your iPhone:

  • On your iPhone, go to: Settings > Messages > Send & Receive - select and/or add any email addresses as preferred.

Also check that you have added your phone number in iMessage on your iPad and Mac.
