I just got the iPhone SE and can't figure out how to add or edit descriptions for the photos that I take on the iPhone. I know i can do it on the Macbook in the photos app but how do I do it on the iPhone?

You can't without 3rd party software. The native App does not provide for this.
Here is one 3rd party option. I am not recommending it as I don't use it. There are others in the App Store.

Ok, wow that's ashamed. Apple needs to add this feature. Surprises me that they don't have it already. Thank you for your reply. I will have to try some of these other apps I guess.
I know next to nothing about these types of apps, but most of the ones that I have seen add text right onto the photo itself. The apps that I have seen do not apply captions under the photos.
Make sure you check them out carefully before making a purchase.
