Q: Download folder / dock - wrong "icon"

Hi, I lost my download folder from the dock.  When I attempt to drag it back, the icon is some strange white shape and when you click it opens up a really strange listing with no controls at the top or bottom.  How do I get the right blue folder that opens properly back in the dock?

Hold the control key click the Download icon in the Dock, and make changes here>Display as>Folder
