Thank you for being part of the Apple Community!
It is my understanding you are experiencing an issue with Siri not recognizing your voice. Siri is great for sending your messages, placing calls, checking your calendar, and so much more. I definitely want to help you get Siri working again.
The first thing I would recommend would be to shut off and restart the iPhone:
Restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the problem continues, you want to make sure you have a current backup of everything on your iPhone. Nothing I am going to suggest should cause any data loss, but it is always a good idea to have a backup. If you follow this link, you will find instructions on how to do a backup:
How to back up your devices using iCloud or iTunes.
Once the backup is finished, you want to reset all settings. Reset All Settings resets preference files that may be having issues. This step will not delete your contacts or photos or any personal information. It does remove all of your preferences for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Do No Disturb, Notifications, General, Sounds, Brightness & Wallpaper and Privacy, and removes your Touch ID & Passcode.
You do this by tapping Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings.
Once you have done this, restart the iPhone and test to see if Siri responds. For a refresher on how to use Siri, you can check here:
Use Siri on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Cheers!

Jul 29, 2016 6:19 AM in response to tim_135by Mariajd,This is a problem with the update. It happened on my iphone 6. We did a factory reset but it did not solve the issue. I have an appointment with an apple store on Saturday.
My ipad updated last night and now siri doesn't work. Works with headphone mic but not without. Hopefully the programmers are getting ready to issue another update to fix this.
