Q: No red dot notification after watch-iphone reconnection

Hi everyone, my question is:

if i leave my house wearing my apple watch but without my iphone,

when i come back to my house, and my watch recoonected automatically to my iphone, i have not red dot notification on my watch even if meanwhile i received calls, i-message an so on

is this normal?

if so it is really a shame.

It would be very comfortable to see the notifications on the watch without having to look at the iphone

note: on my Garmin Fenix 3 I am able to see new notification after a reconnect to my iphone

thank for your advises

Restart your iPhone and Apple Watch.

    1. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
    2. Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
    3. After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.

    1. Press and hold the side button until you see the Power Off slider.
    2. Drag the slider to turn off your device.
    3. After your watch turns off, press and hold the side button again until you see the Apple logo.

If you don't see notifications on your Apple Watch

When your Apple Watch locks or you turn on Do Not Disturb, your notifications go to your iPhone instead of your watch.

    • You’ll see Lock on your watch face when your Apple Watch locks. If your Apple Watch has a passcode, it locks automatically when you aren't wearing it, when it loses contact with your skin, or while it's charging.
    • If Do Not Disturb is on, you'll see Moon icon on your watch face. To turn this feature on or off, swipe up on the watch face, swipe left or right to the Settings glance, then tap Do not disturb button.

    Hi

    Yes, that is normal.

If your iPhone receives notifications whilst your watch is not connected to it, those notifications will not be delivered to the watch later.

Your watch will only save unread notification alerts in Notification Centre if alerts are delivered to your watch as and when the events arise, but are not read at the time. With the Notifications Indicator enabled, the red dot will then appear at the top of the watch face to show that unread notifications are awaiting your attention.

If you would like to suggest that Apple considers adding new features / behaviour for notifications, you can do so here:

    ..

Neither restarting your devices, checking that your watch is unlocked or checking that Do Not Disturb is turned off would have any effect on whether such notifications (under the circumstances that you asked about) are delivered to your watch.

What you described is the expected behaviour.
