You should follow the directions here > Change your Apple ID - Apple Support If you did not do as the first direction instructed you may run into any issue that will prevent you from singing out of Find my iPhone on the device. If that happens go here > https://appleid.apple.com/ and change the email for your account back to the one you used before and start over following the directions laid out by Apple.
Settings > iCloud > (Scroll Down) Delete Account > Sign in with the new Apple ID -- Note: This only affects the device
Settings > iTunes & App Store > Apple ID > Sign Out > Sign in with the new Apple ID
Settings > Messages > Send and Received > Apple ID > Sign Out > Sign in with the new Apple ID
Settings > FaceTime > Apple ID > Sign Out > Sign in with the new Apple ID
