modifying iTunes store URL

Hi,

I would like to change one of my iTunes podcast channel URL so my network isn't in the URL. Is this possible? If so, what steps do I need to take?

Change FROM: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/tenacious-living-network-graceful/id11356308 32

TO: https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/a-graceful-journey-caregiving/id1135630832

thank you

Your URL has your show name in the URL.

In your case your show title is Tenacious Living Network >> A graceful journey.

So your URL is - https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/tenacious-living-network-graceful/id11356308 32?mt=2https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/tenacious-living-network-graceful/id11356308 32?mt=2

However you can just remove the title from the URL and it will keep working - the best URL for your show would be:

https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/id1135630832?mt=2&ls=1

with &ls=1 (lower case L) added on the end - and also the US part removed.

If you are just talking about changing the URL your client adds on their site or in news letters to send people to iTunes - above you said you would give them:

https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/a-graceful-journey-for-family-caregivers/id1135 630832?mt=2&ls=1

I would actually recommend you give them this:

https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/id1135630832?mt=2&ls=1

It gets rid of the show title / name in the URL - and just has the min info needed to launch the iTunes application.

I think what's confusing you (and earlier on, me) is that you think you need to change the actual URL in the Store itself. You don't. Any of the URL variants we discussed will work without your having to do anything.

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/tenacious-living-network-graceful/id11356308 32

https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/a-graceful-journey-for-family-caregivers/id1135 630832?mt=2&ls=1

https://itunes.apple.com/ca/podcast/a-graceful-journey-caregiving/id1135630832

https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/id1135630832?mt=2&ls=1

(those with '?mt-2&ls-1' on the end will open the web page then iTunes itself if the visitor has it, the other just the web page). iTunes ignores the title - this will work just as well

https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/fred/id1135630832?mt=2&ls=1

all without your needing to do anything within iTunes.

"what's the procedure / method of changing the [iTunes] URL?"

Simply change the title of your podcast.

iTunes uses your title in your URL. Change your podcast title (name) and your iTunes URL will change.

To get your URL:

Podcasts app: Tap the share icon at the top right and select "Copy Link". iTunes Store: Control-click on podcast artwork and select “Copy Link.”

Example:

Title: Long Range Truck Driver's Friend

iTunes adds your ID to the end of your title, creating the URL.

This URL will cause the podcast to load into the Podcasts app, or iTunes if they are available: https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/long-range-truck-drivers-friend/idNNNNNNNNN?ls= 1

(Note the URL ends with ?ls=1 )

This URL will bring users to iTunes Preview, a web page with info about your podcast: https://itunes.apple.com/podcast/long-range-truck-drivers-friend/idNNNNNNNNN?mt= 2

(Note the URL ends with ?mt=2 )

Simply change the title of your podcast.

iTunes uses your title in your URL. Change your podcast title (name) and your iTunes URL will change.

There's no need to do this. If you use the URL without the title suggested above, then the web page version of the Store page will show that in the address bar:
