Q: Missing ProRes Easy Setups/Seq. Settings

I recently did a fresh instal of FCP 7 on my MacPro.

I upgraded it to FCP 7.0.3

I do have FCP X Installed (but moved it into it's own folder within Applications)

 

I have copied and recopied the Settings from Applications/Final Cut Pro Additional Easy Setups

to: HDD/Library/Application Suppoer/ Final Cut Pro System Support/Custom Settings

I've trashed and re-trashed my preferences via Digital Rebellion's Preference Manager

 

Still not seeing all the ProRes Easy Setups, but I do see the codecs listed in my sequence settings.

 

Google and the forums here haven't been much help.

I'm not 100% sure about this but I don't think there ever were ProRes easy setups. I don't have any on the copy of FCP-7 on my machine.

There are Apple Pro Res capture settings, as well as any added by a third party such as AJA for use with their I/O device.

May be wrong, though.

    Now that you mention it, you're absolutely right!

    I'm so used to using machines with AJA or Blackmagic cards that it felt wrong not to see a bunch of setups for ProRes. Makes sense since without the I/O, all I'm going to change anyway is my easy setup.

    For some reason it's not letting me click "This solved my question" but I'm sure you did.

    YOu aren't wrong. The only way to get ProRes Easy Setups is to have a capture card driver installed. Then you have the drivers for that card. WIthout it, there is no Easy Setup.  Just drop your clip into the timeline and FCP will make it match.
