You do not list anywhere the model or firmware.. if you don't have an airport it likely won't work.
Airdrop is a fragile conceptual technology where all the pieces have to be in exactly the right place to work.
There are lots of posts with people having issues.. do a google search.

- The Mac must be a 2012 or later model and running OS X10.10 Yosemite or later.
- The iPad must be one of the following:
- iPad Pro
- iPad 4th generation or later
- iPad mini or later
- Running iOS 7 or later
- Both devices must have Bluetooth (4.0 LE) & Wi-Fi enabled.
