Q: Issue Installing iDVD 9 on iMac?

I am trying to install iDVD 9 on my iMac Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2014), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6), MacPro Dual-Core, 2.66 GHz.  I keep getting a warning message saying:  iDVD 9 is incompatible with OS X  and that it might damage the iMac should I continue

with the install.  I find this very strange because I have installed iDVD 9 on my MacBook Pro with no issues using:Screen Shot 2016-07-20 at 7.33.16 AM.png.  The MacBook Pro install of iDVD 9 did include all of the Old Themes as well

as the 7.1.2 update from Apple downloads.  Would really appreciate any advice on how I might get the iMac to allow

the install of iDVD 9.

I'm running iDVD 7.1.2 on my 2011 iMac without problem.  From where are you trying to install it from and can you post a screenshot of the message you're getting when trying to install it.

A workaround would be to use the demo version of  Transmit to install iDVD and its themes, particularly if you're trying to install it from an iLife 09 or 11 disk.

Thank you, OT, for the suggestion.  I did get iDVD 9 installed on the iMac by ignoring the warning message and going forward with the install.  I ignored the message because iDVD 9 did install on my MacBook Pro (no warning message) using the same OS as the iMac without any issues so I felt pretty good about going forward with the install.  I did update to 7.1.2 and everything is working fine including the Old Themes which is what I wanted all along.  Thank you for your help.
