Q: Magic Keyboard Audio Special Keys
I have a relatively new MacBook Pro Retina 15 running OS X Yosemite 10.10.5. I also have a Magic Keyboard paired with the MacBook that I use while in the office. For some reason that I am unable to figure out so far, the special keys printed on the function keys (F1-F12) do not all work. In fact, the only ones that do work are the F3 key to show all of the open applications and the F4 key to show Launchpad. Keys like F8 (play/pause) or F10-F12 (volume mute/down/up) all do not work and i get a single tone with each press but nothing happens. I have also tried to hold down the Fn key with no luck. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Is your new keyboard Magic Keyboard version 2. If it is, It may not function fully with Yosemite and you would need to upgrade to El Capitan 10.11.6. If it is an older type keyboard purchased before october last year, then the problem could soiling, liquid damage or local interference.
