Network Toolbox App & Dept of Defense?

bought the app called Network Toolbox-Network Scanning, by Marcus Roskosch. App details says it can detect apps containing the XCode Ghost, so I wanted to be sure I wasn't having that issue because of some things going on with my phone.

When you have the app, if you go into Device, then Network, the bottom of the screen shows Interfaces. 6.3.6.0 is listed multiple times on my device & when I go into that & choose the Domain Infos, it shows it's the US Department of Defense Network, Provider of Navy Network Information Center, Location of Fort Huachuca.

There are other domain IP addresses that also can be trace routed using this app that all link back to a location of the DOD. Some in Columbus, OH, some in Washington, D.C., etc.

I've done some googling and have only found a few people talking about discovering this on their phones but am at a dead end as to why this is appearing.

Is this on everyone's Iphone or random iPhones or specific iPhones? I had my neighbor download the app to see if it would appear on their iPhone and it does.

What is this??

iPhone 6s, iOS 9.3.2

Delete this App. You don't need it assuming your device is not jailbroken. Update to iOS 9.3.3 and clear your Safari cache as per below:

Close Safari completely from the app switcher window by double clicking the Home button and swiping up the Safari preview pane until it disappears from the screen. Then go to Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data. Then do a forced restart. Hold down the Home and Wake/Sleep buttons at the same time for about 15-20 seconds until the Apple logo appears.

Just because Apple approves the app in the App Store does not mean it is from Apple. It is from the developer that wrote it. Given that, Apple does not support the app, the developer does and could probably answer your question a lot better than someone here. See if their support can answer your question.

If you click on the link in iTunes for the developer's website, it brings you here. http://networktoolbox.de/

And from there, there seems to be a contact link at the top of the page.

This is an approved, and costly app, from Apple.

What kind of things are going on with your phone that make you think some type of software is there?

Actually it is not from Apple. Did you ask the developer what it means when this appears on your phone?

My device is Not jailbroken. Glad to know.

I want to know why the DOD is listed on my iPhone. Only the developer can answer that.

This is an approved, and costly app, from Apple. To get an App approved a developer pays a fee to Apple and Apple tests it to make sure it does not contain malware. With the hundreds of thousands of apps on the store, no usability tests are done by Apple. If Apple receives a lot of negative comments about an app they reserve the right to remove.

How would you possibly know if I need it or not? See below

I know because no one needs this App, specially you since your device is not jailbroken. There are no known viruses or malware that affects iOS devices on 9.3.3 and even if they were a System Restore would resolve. iOS is a sandboxed environment.

As I suggested, update to 9.3.3 and reset Safari. If that does not solve whatever issues you are having Restore your phone as per the instructions below.

System Restore. First backup your device using iTunes. Also import your photos to your computer and copy all important data. Try restoring from backup first and testing it. If it does not help, you may have to restore as New and reconfigure from scratch as the backup could be corrupted. For this reason it is important to have your photos and data saved separately from the backup. Here are the steps for a Restore:
