Q: Trying to delete playlists on my iPod Nano using iTunes for windows, but the playlists are all grayed out, and I can't do anything with it.  Help!  Thanks....

I opened iTunes and connected my iPod Nano 4 to it via my laptop as usual.  In the left hand corner where all the playlists and other lists are, I clicked on "music" under the iPod heading, but the music on it is all grayed out.  I wish to delete the music that's on the iPod and replace it, but there just isn't any way for me to do any editing!  It always worked before, so I'm confused as to why this has happened.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Select the device from this icon and then check that the sync selections, e.g. all music or selected playlists, are as you want them.

Whatever you select to sync should be copied to the device, and anything else already on it should be removed.
