Q: iTunes match question?

Is there a quick way to select lots of music from your iTunes....for example, hundreds of cd's you've ripped over the years, to your iCloud?

iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, Late 2015), OS X El Capitan (10.11.6)

    Hi,

I don't understand your question? Can you be more specific.

ITunes match scans your entire iTunes library to determine what can be matched or needs to be uploaded. Once the process is complete, you will be able to access your music from your other devices.

I guess what I'm asking is, is there a way to upload all the songs that don't automatically match?  Its my understanding that the only songs that match are those that you bought through iTunes.   99% of my catalog are albums in which I own the cd and ripped it into my iTunes.  So I have a few hundred albums with the little cloud icon by them that I have to manually click to put the songs in the cloud.

    Hi,

Your understanding is incorrect. Song purchased from iTunes Store will show an iCloud status of purchased. Some ripped from CDs or added from other sources will usually show matched or uploaded. This process is automatic.

If you have many tracks with iCloud status as waiting, I suggest that you go to file > library > update iCloud music library. This will take some time.

If you still have track waiting, I suggest that you make a smart playlist, select all tracks them ctrl (right) click and select add to icloud music library.

Normally this situation will solve itself. If it doesn't you can select all tracks involved, ctrl-click on them and force iTunes to start adding them to iCloud.
