Q: iBooks not showing SEARCH buttons on iPad

I have an iPad AIR 2 and when I open iBooks, it only displays the books I have in "My Books." All other buttons (Featured, NY Times, etc) show a blank white page. And there is no store or SEARCH button.

My restrictions are set to OFF and my software was updated tonight (thought that would help, did not).

Any ideas?

iBooks works fine on my iMac and on my iPhone.

Tap Settings > iTunes & App Store then make sure Books & Audiobooks is toggled ON.

Does not help, that seems to be a setting for Automatic Downloads...

Other people have posted about the same problem on iOS 9.3.3, for me closing the iBooks app via the iPad's taskbar and then re-opening the app appears to work for a while (until I open a book).
