ok so I'm wanting to download the beta but when I go to settings from the bow load screen online it takes me to some paper signing in the settings and I cannot do anything from there?.. Any suggestions on how to fix this? Do I need to backup my iPad on a computer first?

Just so you are aware, if you have problems using beta software, you will have to put your iPad in recovery mode to restore it > https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203282

I suggest that you study the particular page carefully. I am guessing that you are simply not indicating to the "page" that you have "read" the text of what it is asking you to "sign" (agree to the terms and conditions?)
If your profile is up to date it may be that IOS 10 won't be available on a iPad 2, hence no beta.
Right Bob. Going by this page (http://www.apple.com/ios/ios10-preview/) even my iPad 3 is now obsolete, before I could learn to use it properly. I bought it just four years ago.
The list of supported iPads: I hope, this will change.

It's amazing how fast the iPad progress has been. Don't be too quick in dumping your iPad 3 though. Just because it won't get IOS 10 the iPad 3 is still a good iPad. The retina display alone makes it worth keeping. The way they have been making the iPad upgradable but dropping many features almost makes it better you can't update. IOS 10 is advirtised as the largest update yet and even if you could update you probably wouldn't be getting any of the new features.

I'm planning to do just that. I still love my iPod Touch that cannot be updated past iOS 6. If I only had kept the iPad on iOS 6 as well, I would still be able to use iPhoto iOS on it - the best photo app Apple ever made for the iPad.
