Q: Mac Pro won't recognize keyboard

Hello Everyone,

Last year I took my macpro for repair, please see my old post if you can find it. It turned out nothing was wrong with the motherboard and it needed new ram for two that had failed. I brought it home turned it on and it was fine.

For various reasons I didn't turn it on again until this year when I wanted to look at some photos, I have been using my macbookpro instead. When I tried to turn it on it went to a blue screen and wouldn't got to the log in screen. I took it back to the repair center that put the ram in and they figured out it was a software problem. I think they said they did some sort of hard reboot, I'm not sure.

When I got home I can get to the log in screen but a window comes up saying that the wireless keyboard isn't detected. I don't have a wireless keyboard. We tried shutdown a few x and it still does the same thing. I can move the mouse but the keyboard won't type. We tried another non apple keyboard and it won't recognize that either.

Does anyone know how to solve this without taking it back there? It also said it didn't detect the battery back up. We also tried unplugging everything and holding the power key for 5 seconds which was what one site said to do.

Thanks for help.
