Macbook Pro won´t boot

Hi guys,

I just bought a macbook pro, it is an old mac so it doesn´t have recovery mode, and the HDD was broken so i changed it with the HDD from my acer,now the problem is that i had Linux mint on the acer, and now when i have the same linux mint on the macbook pro, ***.

I just want to reinstall OS X, how can i do that?

But why will he format the disk if he needs the files.

Since he has no backup to restore from Time Machine -- Not sure if he has a backup (Do you have a backup?).


So Mizantrop, if you need the files and want to back up the disk, then you really need to use Target Disk Mode.

So that you can back up your Mac using the other Mac.


But if erasing all the data on the disk doesn't matter to you, then you can do what Csound1 said.

Buy a copy of Snow Leopard on disk and install it (after formatting the Linux disk)
