Q: Burn disk hangs at around 60%

Thanks but the burn process can hang even when exporting to hard disk.

Why does FCP use burn disk it seems quite buggy?

On cancelling the burn from FCP, burn disc is none the wiser or has to be force-quitted.

I trashed preferences as suggested in this post

I don't think its the physical burner because I can burn audio CDs from iTunes.

I am now having to export to master file and burning on another machine.

Well I don't have a background image at all.

I never do in fact and the burn is completely variable.

Usually its a force quit AND restart.

Burn is the weak link in FCP and its getting on my wick.
