Apple Watch Distance off at faster paces?

Good morning everyone... I've searched this and havent had any luck so figured I'd ask to see if anyone else is having some problems.

The other day I was noticing on my tempo runs/faster pace runs that the distance would seem significantly short. I was able to confirm this using gmaps-pedometer. What gmaps is saying is a 3 mile run, the apple watch has me at about 2.5 miles... at most 2.7 miles. I was interested to see if it had to do with my short stride, but when I did the same exact loop at a slower, recovering pace, it was spot on with what gmaps said. Ive now tested this with 4 different loops and every time this was the case. I have calibrated my watch with my phone and I have the most recent update from apple.

Anyone having this problem... or any ideas or info on why this might be happening?

Hi

It may help to recalibrate your watch, ensuring that you run for at least 20 minutes at each of the speeds at which you typically walk and run:

If you have not yet done so, it may also help to update your iPhone and Apple Watch to the latest software, starting with your iPhone:
