Good Afternoon, KWB222,

Thanks for your question. I understand you are having issues with audio when you play your movies in iTunes for Windows.

Are these purchased movies or videos you've created yourself? Did you have any issues playing these movies before you upgraded to Windows 10? Are you able to hear the audio when you play the video using Windows Video Player or an application like VLC? The answers to these questions may help us isolate the cause of your playback issue.

One thing you can immediately check is your iTunes Preferences. In iTunes, click Edit > Preferences. In the Playback pane, make sure Windows Audio Session is enabled.

Another area to check is in the Windows Device Manager.

1. Right-click on the audio driver and choose the option to update the driver software.

2. Choose the High Definition Audio Device from the list of device drivers.

3. Restart your computer.

If these initial troubleshooting steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to uninstall iTunes and its related components and reinstall again. See the resource below for more information:

Remove and reinstall iTunes and related software components for Windows 7 and later

Remove iTunes and its related components from the Control Panel

Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:

  1. iTunes
  2. Apple Software Update
  3. Apple Mobile Device Support
  4. Bonjour
  5. Apple Application Support 32-bit
  6. Apple Application Support 64-bit

On some systems, iTunes might install two versions of Apple Application Support. This is expected. If both are present, be sure to uninstall both versions.

Don't uninstall these components in a different order, or only uninstall some of them. Doing so might have unintended effects. After you uninstall a component, you might be prompted to restart your computer. Wait to restart your computer until you're finished removing all of the components.

If you need help uninstalling these components, follow these steps:

Windows 10
