Q: Can't access iBooks Store from iPads after upgrading to iOS 9.3.3.

We don't seem to be able to access the iBooks Store from either my iPad Air 2 or my wife's iPad Mini 4 after upgrading the machines to iOS 9.3.3. When we click on any of the Store icons across the bottom of the App we get a blank white page. We can access all of our purchased books on the iCloud, but can't look for any new ones. The iBooks app appears to work normally on my iPhone 6 after the iOS upgrade. Anyone else experiencing a similar problem?

Yes. Double click the home button on the iPad, and swipe the iBooks app up and off the screen to close it.

Click the home button again to return to the Home Screen, and then hold down the home and power/sleep buttons for 10 to 15 seconds or until the Apple logo shows up.

This will reboot the iPads. Let them restart and try opening the iBooks App again.

No data should be lost by this.

There are a number of threads about the same problem. On my iPad logging out and back into my account via Settings > iTunes & App Store briefly fixed it (until I next opened a book on my bookshelf and then tried to access the store tabs), other people appear to have had some success by closing the app via the iPad's taskbar and/or doing a soft-reset/reboot. If you want to leave feedback to Apple about the problem : http://www.apple.com/feedback/ibooks_ios.html

Since posting this solution, it's back to being blank.

I did notice that when it did work the activity circle at the top bar next to the Wifi icon showed up.

But when its not working it does not. Seems it simply does not try to connect to the store at all.

Rebooting the iPad again, did not bring it back.   So I'm at a loss now.

Did that happen only after opening a book on the bookshelf ? Whether the store works on mine seems to be somewhat random now, closing the app via the taskbar is working occasionally

Yes, I happened to open the Apple Tv User Guide before it went blank again. Reset the iPad again after letting it sit for several hours, and it seems to be working now. Opened a couple books and then back to the Store tabs all seems to be loading correctly.

I am having the same problem, and I have not even done the update yet to 9.3.3. I have done the reboot thing several times to no avail.  I can not delete the iBooks app.  When I try, I don't get the little x in the corner which would allow me to delete.

I can go to Safari and open the iBooks store that way, but in the app itself I get the dreaded white screen.  What gives?

I Have done the same in doing the upgrade IOS 9.3.3 and still have a blank screen.  I also noticed that any bookmarks in my books have been erased.  The book words are there but no books marks that I added. What gives. Is Apple providing any direction?

In typical Apple fashion, in my past experience, there is only silence in regards to an issue.

    HI Foodiegrl,

I just read posted a reply to my comment and it was, that in typical Apple fashion, as per my experience, there has been no support when an issue has been posted.  I have tried all the tricks posted by all the helpers in this string and still no results.  Very frustrating indeed.

You mean here in the forums?

Apple does not directly participate here. So no real reason to believe they'd post here about an issue.

If you want to let Apple know about the issues use the feedback link.

Actually, I received an eMail from an iOS Senior Advisor acknowledging the problem and advising me that they were working on it. A fix should be available in the next release. Let's be fair to Apple. iOS and its Apps are becoming very complex. In my humble opinion, they are doing an outstanding job in meeting my needs.

THank you for this information.  I was under the impression that I could get Apple help here.  I am sorry if I offended anyone with my frustration.  I too will also quit using this chat page then and deal directly with Apple.

I was working with an agent two days ago but couldn't fix the problem. He left me a voice mail yesterday to say that Apple was aware of the problem and was working to fix it.  Check the Forbes online article July 22.  It is a known software bug.
