Q: I don't have certain options inside of group chats on iMessage.

Okay, so this is my problem: when I go onto iMessages, click a group chat, and then click details, it does NOT give me the option to leave the conversation, or add a contact. And when I scroll to the top, in details, it does not give me the choice to change the name of that chat. Like, the buttons aren't even there! Can someone please tell me how to fix this so I can leave a group chat, add a contact to said group chat, or rename it. Thanks to whoever can tell me how to fix this.

That option is present only if

    1. There are more than three people on the conversation

    2. Everyone is using iMessage

Other than that - you can use Do Not Disturb at the bottom of the details page to avoid being disturbed with every message

    Hi,

So you are seeing a listing a bit like this:-

    Group_chat.png

    More heads is more people.

Two heads and you is three people.

As you say the Details drop down should list this:-

    Details_Group_Chat.png

If it is an AIM or Jabber group chat I am not sure the Details Drop down works the same way (it does not for A/V items).

AIM Group Chats can be named at the start and cannot be changed later. (the AIM server records the name and when you try and use that name again it will say "empty")

It's a long time since and did Jabber group chat.
