Q: sound issue

I just did the new update last night and since then my sound will not work unless my head phones are plugged in??? Anyone else have this issue?

iPhone 6, iOS 9.3.3

    Hi christine0928!

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities. As I understand, your iPhone 6's speakers were working fine before updating, but now you need to use headphones to listen. I'll be more than glad to help.

    If you hear no sound -- Follow the steps in this article and test after each one.


    If you're still not hearing sound from your speakers, here are more steps for you.

    Back up your iPhone -- Before I continue, please make sure you have a recent backup of your personal data. This process will completely erase your phone.

    Use iTunes on your Mac or PC to restore your iPhone -- The first time through, when your iPhone asks, set it up as a new iPhone. You can log into iTunes & App Store and iCloud if you'd like. You can download a song or two or use a website (like YouTube) to see if your speakers are working as they should now.

    ​Restore your iPhone -- If your speakers are working again as they should, use this article to move your personal information back to your iPhone.
