Jul 22, 2016 1:18 AM in response to Mirotic Sasaby K Shaffer,★HelpfulThere should be instruction in this Support article:
• Hide and unhide purchases in the Mac App Store - Apple Support
Learn how to hide and unhide your Mac App Store purchases....
If you hide an item you purchased in the Mac App Store, you won't get update notifications ...
support.apple.com/en-us/HT202320Sometimes a search can be customized to reveal more or other related topics:
https://duckduckgo.com/?q=mac+app+store+unhide+software+updates&t=ffsb&ia=web
{Also, you may have (un)checked boxes in the System Preference panel for App Store;
if so, the results may also deny access to updates, depending on what was changed.}
Hopefully this is what you are seeking.
Good luck!

Jul 22, 2016 1:18 AM in response to K Shafferby Mirotic Sasa,Thank you for your replies.
I didn't hide any purchase items and there is no option in app store for me to unhide any purchases.
I suppose purchases and updates are different categories.

Jul 22, 2016 1:37 AM in response to Mirotic Sasaby K Shaffer,You could check to see if the System Preferences> App Store panel
has anything changed from the default which should be to allow at
least 'Automatically check for updates' and choices on if you wanted
them to be automatically downloaded in background; or if you want
to have any thing installed; and so on.
By changing these App Store preferences in the System Prefs panel
the other items you hope to see update for, may appear if available.
You may also be able to click a 'check now' button in this pref panel.
{If you do not want App Store to download or install an UpGrade or
a later OS X version than present, be sure to note these settings.}
Also note the Support page posted earlier, shows a secondary link to iTunes:
• Hide and unhide iTunes Store, App Store, or iBooks Store purchases - Apple Support
There is an OS X Help viewer where you can search Support help files from
inside your Finder menu bar. When no other apps are open, it shows OS X.
Good luck & happy computing!
