Q: Bluetooth sound on El Capitan

My Bose AEW bluetooth speakers work great on my iPad pro but really poorly on OS X El Capitan. Sound is tinny and hollow. How can I improve it?

MacBook Air, OS X El Capitan (10.11.5)
