Q: Time Machine Quicken Backup
My Quicken file became corrupted and I want to access the Time Machine backup from 2 days ago. When I enter Time Machine I can see the Quicken file, but when I click to open it I simply get a message as to when it was last modified. How do I actually open the file as it appeared 2 days ago
?
iMac (21.5-inch Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.6.8), Western Digital Backup Drive

Time machine does not open files, it backs them up and then gives you the ability to restore versions. Please follow Apple's instructions in Use Time Machine to back up or restore your Mac - Apple Support.
In your case, locate the version you want to restore, and TM will restore the file to it's original location. Then either double click the file to open Quicken or open Quicken and if necessary navigate to the file and open it.
