It states in the documents that come with it that it can't be put on its side. Can I hang it on the wall? The only space I have for it laying flat is getting interference from Amazon Echo Dot and my cable modem.

It was designed to work best in a horizontal position, but placing it vertically it will work just fine. Also another alternative would be to mount it on the ceiling.
There are a number of outfits that make wall / ceiling mounts for it as well.
