Q: Create bootable usb on Mavericks
Hi everyone -
I have Mavericks and I'm trying to create a bootable drive with Mavericks using createinstallmedia function.
Having read Apple tutorial Create a bootable installer for OS X - Apple Support I have maneged to do it before several times.
1. So I've put my installer on the Application folder
2. I've create a volume on my USB drive called Cap
3. And I typed: sudo /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia --volume /Volumes/Cap –applicationpath /Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app –nointeraction
4.HoweverI keep on getting the following error message:"You must specify both the volume and install application path"
on the Terminal prompt.
I just dont understand why I get that that as I've checked and recheck the installer is in the Applications folder and the volume is indeed called "Cap". I have even dragged and dropped the installed Mavericks app on the terminal which indeed gives me "/Applications/Install\ OS\ X\ Mavericks.app" and the for the volume I get the crrect oath "/Volumes/Cap" for the volume so everything seems correct..
So I dont understand why it does not work now, even though I did it several times before ....
Can someone tell what I am doing wrong here.
Thanks !!
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.5)
