mouse used with an iPad?
Why can't a mouse be used with an iPad especially when in Pages?
iPad/iPhone/iPod touch uses Touch Interface, mouse is not supported.

This may be silly but windows allow touch and support a mouse. Pages is difficult to use sometimes with touch screen a mouse would be quicker in some cases.
iPad are not compatible with a mouse only keyboard. It's hard to explain but only work with touch on the screen and because we haven't seen Apple doing experimenting the mouse to get it work properly to connect with iPad since April 2010 (6 years ago) WWDC that was not introduced for their first time.
If Apple plans it on having a mouse, Apple either use Bluetooth or Connect Lighting Port to trigger a mouse. It seems that Bluetooth is easier to connect in one place. We probably see them in the far future but having a mouse is a good reasoning to have one of those.

Mouse is never supported in iOS since version 1 (2007), now it is iOS 9.3.3 (2016) and soon will be iOS 10.
BTW, Apple iOS is not Windows.
I don't see why it's quicker if I have to grab a mouse to do something where I can directly manipulate the screen with my finger(s).
I also do not use a mouse on my Mac, I use the Trackpad.
Each of us are different. It would be most helpful for me to use a mouse or a trackball with the iPad. I bet if apple did a survey and asked if a trackball or mouse would enhance a users experience with an iPad, i think the results would be favorable. just my opinion of course.

BTW is knew apple iOS is not Windows. I was using Windows as an example of using both touch screen and mouse simultaneously in their product.

Mouse cursor is not supported and is an old indirect way to manipulate a screen.
Even on my Mac, it's not efficient to leave my keyboard to grab a mouse (if I can use hotkeys instead)
Give me one example then, where the mouse is useful to you.

Listen I know its not a desktop or a laptop, but in most cases with an attachable keyboard it is used very much like a laptop in a sense.
To cut and past documents on a iPad is murder using your fingers. The same with using numbers and working with spreadsheets. To cut an paste items take forever.
Even if the keyboard I use with my iPad had a built in trackpad I would never have to touch the screen when i am using the keyboard. Now I use the keyboard to type then touch the screen to cut and paste that to me is not efficient. A trackpad on a keyboard would be much more efficient for me and I don't think I am alone with this.
Tell me, would you use your fingers if your iMac had a touch screen along with you keyboard and trackpad? Would not be to efficient for you would it. Well that the way I feel inefficient with my iPad when i use a keyboard without a mouse.

Correct, and as such it is not designed to operate like a desktop or laptop.
my point exactly! But it can be with just adding a trackpad as an accessory! Whats the harm?
The only option is to use the builtin virtual keyboard, where you can use 2 fingers on the keyboard to move the pointer (cursor?).
That's not efficient at all if I am using a keyboard attachment to the iPad.
