Q: I have a camera I have been uploading pictures on for years - it recently told me on iPhoto that there was a repair needed to be done

I have a camera I have been uploading pictures on for years - it recently told me on iPhoto that there was a repair needed to be done - since then it seems to not recognize it and won;t upload.   I also just got a point & shoot - it also will not upload - At the same time I am also getting a msg that my dropbox is full...I do not use dropbox but its recognizing something?  can anyone offer suggestions how to get these uploading to iPhoto again?

    Lets start with some details

You state you have OS X 10.6.8 - is that correct? What version of iPhoto do you have? How do you upload to iPhoto? What exactly does happen?

And if you were told that your Dropbox is full then you are using DropBox for something and that may be the problem - I suggest that you get with DropBox support and resolve that and it is likely that it will resolve everything

Which version of iPhoto are you using, and which version of OS X?

Is iPhoto running well otherwise?  What happened directly before iPhoto stopped importing?

Can you import directly from the card using a card reader?

I have 10.9.5  and 9.5.1 for iPhoto.  I went into utilities and discovered there was nothing showing in image capture as Olympus or no name....I loaded the olympus new disc....interestingly I had my old Panasonic camera plugged in and it loaded those pics...so it was not drop box - I thought that might be the problem also.  However, I still can't get the pics off the new camera.  Thx for your help so far...

Are your cameras on the list of supported RAW formats for Mavericks?   Check the list and the requirements:

OS X Mavericks: Supported digital camera RAW formats

If your cameras are not on the list, you may need to upgrade to El Capitan.
