Ok, so here is my dilemma. For various reasons, I have two iPhones (one for work and one for personal stuff) which both use the same AppleID. Can I add up to 8 different credit & debit cards to each phone (personal on my personal phone, company cards on my business phone)? So, basically is the 8 credit & debit card limit per AppleID (iTunes account) or per device?

Just to clarify...that would mean that I could theoretically have a total of 16 different credit & debit cards on 2 devices (max. 8 on each) on the same Apple ID/iCloud account?

Apple defines the limit on a per device basis, not on a "per Apple ID" basis.
To verify this, try adding a ninth card (overall) on one of your iPhones, whilst remaining within the limit of eight cards per device.
