Will anything mirror onto the TV from my iPod Touch 6 & iPhone 6? For example, if I were to surf the web on safari, or play a game directly from the iPod 6, will that mirror onto the TV, along with any app?

Thanks a bunch for the reply.. yah, I was just curious if the normal iOS apps work fine if I were to mirror them to the tv.. preferably safari.

I suspect you will be hard pressed to find any gaming apps that won't mirror to the Apple TV, but many content providers will block their apps and content streamed for viewing through web browsers, outside of media I suspect you will find little that can't be mirrored.
There are 2 types of AirPlay, basic and mirroring. Basic AirPlay is far more reliable since it isn't a live representation of your screen, Many apps/content may not work with basic AirPlay since the developer needs to specifically opt in and enable basic AirPlay. MIrroring is less reliable since it's live (although that being said there is invariabally a slight delay which makes gaming difficult in many circumstances), but is on by default unless the developer or provider specifically opts out by disabling mirroring.

This is a great description of AirPlay variants. However, I've noticed one annoying idiosyncracy you didn't mention. This applies to my iPad air with iOS 9.3.3. If you play a video in Safari or an app, you can mirror the screen including the video player. However, if you switch the player to full-screen mode, it switches to Basic AirPlay, indicated by the player turning gray, with the AirPlay symbol and message. That means that any video incompatible with Apple TV can only be AirPlayed in the small screen format. Just a minor speedbump, but annoying.
