i am using serato rane sl3 in order to work i need to update to os x yosemite el capitan won't work

A:

You need to update to 10.6.8, and then either log into the Mac App Store with an Apple ID previously used to download Yosemite, or ask Apple for it, such as by going to a physical Apple Store.
