Q: Create New Apple ID with an Invalid Email

I accidentally crated an Apple ID with an invalid email address. I can neither remember my password nor the security questions. Now I cannot reset the password through email. The iPhone is still in warranty. I am desperate. Anybody know what to do?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to do so as it is a security precaution... as if there was a bypass, it would make a thief's job much easier... if you bring it in to Apple, or send them an email, they might be able to help if you give them enough information.

Call their support, in your local language, Contact Apple for support and service - Apple Support

It might be possible to get rid of the apple id by speaking with their support, I did the same thing and they helped me!

Thank you all for your reply. Please let me give you more details.

I live in Cambodia where there is no Apple Store here yet. I purchased this iPhone for my little brother at a local store for $990. He never had an iPhone before. He himself created an Apple ID through Settings->iCould menu with a gmail with an underscore (_), ****************. This email doesn't not exist since Google never allows underscore. Now he cannot remember the password, cannot remember the security questions. The iPhone is still under warranty. I took it to the shop where he bought it, but the shopkeeper cannot help. One thing my brother can remember about his Apple ID is his date of birth associated with the account.

Is there a language that he speaks which is in the list? If not, can you translate for your brother and speak with the English/American support?

    Hi

Note that you should not disclose any personal information here (such as email addresses - or misspellings of them), as anything that you post here is publicly viewable.

Unless I'm mistaken that Apple ID won't actually exist since none of the verification for the account can have taken place. Surely your brother can create a working account with gmail or similar, then create an Apple ID, based around the new email address, then sign into the device with the newly minted Apple ID.

Exactly, there is no Apple ID yet, so make one.

As you may see in the picture below, the invalid email (with underscore) is now the Apple ID signed in iCloud menu. And since Find my iPhone is turned on, without the password I cannot turn it off.

Then it is not an invalid email, it must have been verified for it to become an Apple ID. Of course if you invalidated it yourself by closing the account it could be invalid now.

What do you mean by invalid?

Invalid because there is an underscore "_" in it. Google no longer allows this in a Gmail account.

My brother created the Apple ID without having an email address. He just filled in the one with underscore, then Apple let it through anyway.

I suggest that you contact Apple for assistance, as I'm afraid that no-one here can make any changes to your brother's account (you are not talking with Apple here - this is a user-based community).

As there is no contact phone number for Apple Support in Cambodia, you may find it most convenient in the first instance to contact Apple via Twitter, making sure to only disclose personal information once you are engaged in a conversation via Direct Message:

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it.

I already sent an email to an Apple Support agent, and also sent a message to Apple via Twitter.

No reply yet so far. I think all I can do now is waiting.

You mean "then he verified it by replying and Apple let it through" don't forget that.

So make another account, they're free
