- Appear in Disk utility?
If it does are the parameters list seem reasonable?
- If shows in Disk Utility does it also show in Finder?
If it does, can you browse the disk?
- If it does not show in Disk Utility does it appear in System Profiler under SATA/SATA Express?
If it shows in Disk Utility but you can't browse in Finder then

you may be able to download a demo of Data Rescue 4, and the demo will give you an idea of what it can recover. If it looks promising, you then can buy the software.

If it doesn’t show up in Disk Utility, then it might have damages on its surface. Try this helpful link, Recover a Failed Internal Mac Hard Drive however, in the case of a physical damage you might need to consider data recovery services.
