why does my macbook pro have one contant light on the battery indicator, computer will not start up

Do you mean one of the LED light on the connector that plugs into the Mac?
What is color of the LED?
Does anything happen when you press the Power button? Hear anything? Hear startup chime?

Can you provide more details on computer model, as well as troubleshooting efforts so far? If it is a 2012 Hard Drive MacBook Pro, and the battery indicator is the one by the side, perhaps try charging your MacBook?

Nothing happens no sound, nothing,,, the leds on the side of the computer to show how much battery life you have,,, one light stays on and its green

Try:
If your Mac won't turn on - Apple Support
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
